Mission Lifeline Award
In mid-2017 (for 2016), Person County EMS received the AHA Mission Lifeline Silver Plus award. The award recognizes EMS agencies across the nation for their vital role in providing timely treatment for STEMI (heart attack) patients. The Silver award is the highest award possible for first year applicants. To achieve this recognition, the agency must obtain at least a 75% in each measure.
Measure 1: Percentage of 12 LEAD ECGs acquired for patients with non-traumatic chest pain, 35 years or old and transported.
Measure 2: Percentage of First Medical Contact to Device Activation/Primary PCI in 90 minutes or less
Measure 3: Percentage of lytic eligible STEMI patients treated and transported to a STEMI referring hospital for fibrinolytic therapy with a door-to-needle time of <30 minutes.
RESULT: None to report. All STEMI patients are transported to a PCI center
Optimal Plus Measure: Percentage of 12 LEAD ECGs performed on patients in the field with an initial complaint of non-traumatic chest pain >35 years (who were transported), within 10 minutes of EMS arrival to the patient.
