The Person County Recreation, Arts, and Parks Department would like to announce an eight-week session of yoga classes beginning March 8, 2018 and ending May 3, 2018.  Classes will be held each Thursday evening from 6:15 – 7:30 pm in the William H. Barker Community Building at Hyco Lake Park.  The class will be taught by Melanie Hester, certified yoga instructor.  There will be no class on April 5, 2018.

This series of yoga classes are designed to help renew the sense of well-being and relax yet invigorate the body, mind, and spirit.  We will use delicious slow movement and props to support the body and find the boundaries of capacity.  You will learn how to use the breath to release tension and stress.  And practice restorative yoga poses that will help to calm the nervous system and create a deep, restful sense of well-being.  These classes are for anyone who wants to give themselves the gift of self-care.  Let go.  Of everything – all the tension, tightness and resistance – and melt into yoga.

The registration fee for this 8-week session is $64.00 per person for the whole session for Person County residents and $94.00 for non-residents.  The registration deadline is Monday, March 5, 2018 to avoid the $5.00 late fee.  You can come by the Recreation Department located at 303 South Morgan Street between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.   There is no refund after the registration deadline.  There is minimum of six participants and a maximum of 12 for this class.  You will need to bring your own yoga mat.

For more information call the Recreation Department at 336.597.1755.
