Teen Winners SRP 17

Three teens won the Person County Public Library’s “Teen Summer Reading Bingo Challenge.” They read books, visited local business, and learned about local community resources.  On August 1st three teen winners were drawn. Aaliyah Mangum won first place a $50.00 Wal-Mart gift card. The second prize of a $40.00 Palace Pointe gift card went to Calvin Glenning, and Jessie Kradel won third prize a Reader Relaxation Basket: complete with scented candle, chocolate, and two free teen titles. These teens are models for reading, getting active in your community, and all three worked hard to complete the Bingo Challenge this summer. Congratulations to these three and their families.

If you would like to be a teen or even adult winner at the library, September is your chance.  From September 1st to 25th we are hosting a Banned Book Week Art Contest. Celebrate your freedom to read by designing a poster inspired by a banned book. This is open to teens and adults ages 13 and up. Each poster entry requires a submittal form, which can be found at the library or online.

TAB our Teen Advisory Board would like to invite all teens ages 12 and up to join the talk. We are always looking for smart opinionated teens who wish to serve their library and encourage other teens to be reading. We meet once a month, join us at our next meeting on Monday September 18 at 4:00 PM.
